Welcome to #GamesNightViz Season 2!

July 8, 2023

Welcome back! You probably would have noticed a facelift in the website as well as a spanking new logo...

What's the occasion you might ask? Well, Team #GamesNightViz has some very exciting news to announce. We did a review of our journey with #datafam in the past 2 years and we are extremely thankful for the support and passion from the community as well as the incredible collab partnerships with #DataFamCom, #IronQuest, #DataPlusMusic, #B2VB, #SportsVizSunday and #PreppingData! If you have missed our recap, you can check it out with Louis' #VizOfTheDay submission of #GamesNightViz Review.

Some key highlights was definitely receiving a total of 151 vizzes, created by 88 participants. What's fascinating is that for 10 of these people, #GamesNightViz was their starting point! And you may know one of them very well.. the #IronViz 2023 champion Paul Ross! We recently also did a casual fireside chat with him, and you can check it out over here.

What a journey it has been for us to be able to help nurture the community in a fun way ! - Will, Louis & Tina

#GamesNightViz started as a fun way to practice your data analysis and visualization skills and as of April 2023, we have officially ended Season 1. With our learnings in the past 2 years, we went back to the drawing board to create something that we believe, will help the community even more.

This project focuses a monthly theme that you can participate to challenge either data preparation, data visualization or visual design. Existing datasets on video games will be readily available and comes with difficulty scales to help those newer or with limited time to practice. You can also bring data from your own favorite games too! We love all types of games: card games, board games, video games, party games, game shows, the list goes on!
